In 2022, the LTC launched its Centennial Project in celebration of the Club's 100-year-plus history. This 3-part project was designed to update the LTC facility, making the courts even more welcoming and enjoyable for members and visitors alike.
In the fall of 2022, the court lights were re-oriented and new energy-efficient bulbs were installed, vastly improving the quality of lighting for evening play. Now members and visitors can enjoy court time well into the evenings from spring through fall.
Late in 2022, work was started on building a new, accessible washroom for the club. This phase of the project was completed in the spring of 2023.
In 2023 the planning committee and fundraising committee started to work on the third and biggest phase of the Centennial Project: upgrading the courts with a more knee-friendly rubberized acrylic surface.
In the summer of 2023 we researched tennis court vendors, explored grants and other funding sources, and launched a fundraising campaign among our members and local supporters. Thanks to the generous contributions of LTC members, community supporters, and municipal and provincal granting agencies, we met our fundraising goals and were able to hire Pro Sport Surfacing from Pecheur, N.B. to resurface the courts in September of 2024.
The resurfacing project is now complete, and members and visitors are able to play on this new, modern surface. We hope players of all ages enjoy our revitalized courts.
